SELECT A REGULARLY SCHEDULED MONTHLY CLASS FOR PISTOL, RIFLE AND SHOTGUN FOR STUDENTS BRINGING THEIR OWN FIREARM OR USING OURS DURING CLASS. Only 4 students per class - register now!  SPECIALTY CLASSES ARE HELD THE 2ND WEEKEND - SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS.  YOU MAY ALSO REQUEST A WEEKDAY CLASS (WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY/FRIDAY) AND WE'LL SCHEDULE IT WITHIN 2 WEEKS.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL CLASSES. 

  • 1st weekend: NRA BASIC PISTOL.

    This is an 8-hour course for the complete beginner or person who wants a refresher on the basics. Includes classroom + between 75-200 rounds LIVEFIRE. Only 4 students per class. Class is 8:30am-4:30pm. Student must be age 21 or older, or be accompanied by their legal guardian who may be present as an observer. 
    • Saturday class is for those bringing their own pistol. 
    • Sunday class is for those who do not yet own a pistol, and will be using the Instructor's during classtime.
  • Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor. This certificate is valid proof of education for most out-of-state concealed carry licenses & for entry into intermediate/advanced pistol classes.  STUDENTS AGE 21+ WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THIS COURSE ARE QUALIFIED TO REGISTER TO ATTEND THE NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME COURSE.

    NRA Refuse to be a Victim; NRA Personal Protection In The Home, NRA Metallic Cartridge Reloading, NRA Range Safety Officer, USCCA Pistol Classes + more!
  • NRA REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM:

    Teaches strategies people can integrate into their everyday lives to avoid becoming a victim of crime. Class is 8:30am-1:30pm. Fee: $45.  Ages 12+.  
  • This is not a firearms instruction course, and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense. Seminars teach common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of, and a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive and easy to follow. The seminar includes classroom instruction on criminal psychology, automobile crimes; cyber safety, home security, and a variety of crime prevention strategies including carjack avoidance techniques, use of personal safety devices, and more. Students receive the Refuse To Be A Victim® student handbook, NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® brochure, NRA Become A Refuse To Be A Victim® Instructor Brochure, Refuse To Be A Victim® Firearms Supplement, and a course completion certificate.

  • NRA BASIC PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME COURSE: 

    Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.  CLASS IS 8:30AM - 5:00PM.  FEE $195. Student must provide their own pistol for use during this class, plus approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. STUDENT MUST BE AGE 21+.

More Details: Prerequisite: This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm). Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.  
Description: This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate.  
Note: Lesson III of this course: Firearms and the Law, and Legal Aspects of Self-Defense, is conducted by an attorney licensed to practice law within the state in which this course is given and who is familiar with this area of the law, or a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) who possesses an intermediate or higher Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate granted within the state, or an individual currently certified to instruct in this area of the law by the state in which this course is presented. NRA Certified Instructors may conduct this lesson only if they meet the requirements stated above and then only in their capacity as an attorney, or other state certified individual not in their capacity as an NRA Certified Instructor.

    This is a 5-hour course for the complete beginner or person who wants a refresher on the basics. Includes classroom + between 50-100 rounds LIVEFIRE. Only 4 students per class. Class is 8:30am-1:30pm.  Student must be age 18 or older, or be accompanied by their legal guardian who may be present as an observer.
      • Saturday class is for those bringing their own rifle. 
      • Sunday class is for those who do not yet own a rifle, and will be using the Instructor's during classtime.

NRA FIRST Steps Rifle is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to a rifle. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a rifle. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular rifle model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the rifle; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook and a NRA FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.

NRA FIRST Steps Shotgun course is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to a shotgun. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a shotgun at a moving target. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular shotgun model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the shotgun; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook and a NRA FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.

PRIVATE COACHING - 2-1/2 hour session, $135, available for pistol, rifle and shotgun. Student brings firearm and 200 rounds ammunition. Student must have basic knowledge and experience in using the firearm. This is NOT for the total beginner.  You will specify on the registration form the skills you wish to work on with your coach.  Private Coaching is available on weekdays only (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). You specify the day, and we will work with you on the date - typically scheduled 2 weeks out.
